About Ed...
Arrived on this planet April 1962, Ed, eldest of 3 brothers and a sister often proved a bane to his parents and relatives trying to rein in an inexhaustible energyball. Issues of the 70's.the Vietnam War, Hippies, Free Love, Man's first steps on the Moon, meant little to Ed who picked up his first serious camera, a Contax 139Q with the noble aim of recording the different faces of humanity which he defined as girls, girls and more girls
Currently based in Singapore, Ed travels extensively around South East Asia documenting on film humanity and its many faces. Conversant in English, Chinese, Thai and Indonesian, Ed often dives into diverse cultural, political and street environments with a thirst in finding understanding the lives of extraordinary people often marginalized by hostile and adverse circumstances.
He was offered kindness on rural footpaths, showered with laughter and found warmth in villages when there was none to be found in the city.
Covering Singapore,Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Laos, Philippines and PRC, Ed has a keen eye for situations and vision in intelligent documentary work. He often likes to combine photography with passioned tale-spinning
Ed holds a regular job as a senior executive in a local securities firm.
Educated in the United States with degrees in Finance and International Business (Ohio University, 1987) Ed shares in these pages life lessons learnt in the heartlands of South East Asia.
