Tools of my trade...

Hi, sorry but I'm not posting any pictures of my camera equipment . I get lots of questions on the type of equipment I use. So to permanently answer the same repetitive equipment questions, this page lists what I use.

By the way, an examination of the inventory reveals that I?m the original icon that coined the word ?cheapskate?.

Apart from an understanding in fundamental photography concepts, I have no interest in understanding the wonderful world of how cameras work both electronically and manually. Nonetheless, an painter without a brush, a writer without a PC and for that matter, a photographer without a camera will find it hard to work without a vehicle in which his work is created.

For this simple reason alone I list a few of my favorite tools when making images.

* Canon EOS (not saying which) with an assortment of primes

* Canon Canonet GIII QL17 (nice little 70s rangefinder that is compact and quick) (Sold 13/02/03)

* Fed 3a (black) LTM russian rangefinder with Cosina 25/4, Jupiter 12 35/2.8 and an Industar 50/2.8

* Kiev 4am Contax-mount russian rangefinder with Jupiter 12 35/2.8 and an Industar 50/2.0

*Iskra 6x6 medium format russian rangefinder (a beauty of a folding rangefinder)

* Contax G2 electronic rangefinder with
- 28mm
- 35mm
- 45mm
- 90mm

* Leica M6 TTL with a 28/2.8 and a 90/2 (on long loan from a dear friend)

* Contax RTS II body with a 50/1.4 and 35/2.8 lens

* Fuji GW690 III 6x9 medium format Japanese rangefinder with a mean 90/3.5 Fujinon ECB lens

* Canon G3 digital camera . My first little step into the world of digital imaging. Sharp versatile camera (SOLD Oct 2003)
Warranty expiring warranted the upgrade to a G5

* Canon G5 digital camera. Black. (Sold early March 2004)

* Olympus 5060 Wide digital camera. Bought this on a switch in March 2004. Love the 28mm perspective (Retired)

* Olympus 8080 - An old warhorse but still gets the job done
